The paradox of climate finance: even if essential, massive resource mobilisation is still distant

Climate finance is one of the pillars of the architecture of the Paris Agreement. There are very many views on how to scale up climate finance in accordance with financing needs; however, resources available for climate action grow less vigorously than needed as climate finance mechanisms have not been yet able to support transformational efforts towards deep decarbonisation of the global economy. Still more difficult seems to be channel resources necessary for adaptation actions and enhancing resilience.
