Impact bonds, a step beyond responsible investment

Social impact bonds (BIS) work, like other debt securities, offering a rate of return, but the profit is linked to a social or environmental objective. Currently there are more than 90 social bond issues worldwide that total an investment of near 26 billion euros. The United Kingdom is ranked number one, followed by the United States.
