AES Brasil launches 20-year green bond
AES Brasil has placed a green bond for an amount equivalent to approximately US$ 105 million to finance two developments at the Tucano Wind Power Complex (Tucano II and III), in northeastern Bahia, Brazil. With 27 wind turbines, Tucano II will have a capacity of 167.4 MW, while Tucano III, with 25 wind turbines, will deliver a capacity of 155 MW.
The issue was made in two series maturing in September 2041. In the Tucano II series, the yield is equivalent to the variation of the IPCA index plus 6.06% per annum, payments will be semi-annual starting in July 2024, and the interest of the first two years will be capitalized in the same year 2024. In the Tucano III placement, the interest rate is 6.59% per annum, with semi-annual payments starting in July 2024.
