Sustainable certification for construction in Uruguay

Uruguay recently launched MAS, the first sustainable certification for building construction. The initiative from LSQA, a certification and training company, has the support of BBVA bank in Uruguay, the Association of Private Promoters of Construction (APPCU), the Chamber of Construction of Uruguay and the company Bosch & Cia. MAS certification stands for the initials of Environment, Architecture and Society in Spanish.
The objective of the MAS initiative is to encourage sustainable construction, improving the user’s quality of life by controlling and reducing energy and raw materials consumption, minimizing the impact on the environment and seeking to obtain the best architectural product.
