BNDES awards administrators of the new Criatec 4 ESG Fund, which will invest in startups with socio-environmental focus
The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) of Brazil appointed Crescera Capital and Triaxis Capital as administrators of the new “Criatec 4 ESG Fund”. This fourth edition of the Criatec Funds focuses for the first time on the socio-environmental commitment of the startups in which it invests, in addition to the development of governance practices.
The Fund will invest a total of nearly 60 million dollars in participations among 25 to 35 Brazilian technology-based companies with accelerated growth that operate mainly in the sectors of: (i) Sustainable Cities, Smart Cities or Housing Technologies; (ii) Education or Employability; (iii) Health Value Chain; (iv) Sustainability or Green Technologies; (v) Financial Technologies; or (vi) Citizenship or Public Management. The stipulated investment term is up to 10 years.
In order to guarantee compliance with the objectives of the Fund, it is encouraged that startups should achieve certifications that grant the development of ESG practices.
