CABEI issues its second blue bond

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) has issued its second blue bond for an amount in Japanese yen equivalent to about 55 million dollars. The bond has a 10-year term. The placement takes place less than a month after the publication in December 2022 of the new Blue Taxonomy within CABEI’s Green and Blue Bond Framework. This is CABEI’s 14th issuance in the Japanese capital market.
According to statements by the CABEI’s Executive President, “the new blue bond issuance follows CABEI’s commitment on developing a more sustainable and resilient Central American region by financing projects that contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
