The province of Mendoza in Argentina authorizes the issuance of green bonds to finance expansion of Metrotranvía

Mendoza, the fifth largest Argentinean province in terms of population, has authorized by decree the issuance of green bonds to finance the expansion of the Metrotranvía light rail system, for an amount in local currency equivalent to about 44 million dollars.

Metrotranvía was initially inaugurated in year 2012 and currently has an extension of approximately 18 kilometers. The works, which will add another 16 kilometers to the north and south, will allow the expansion of safe and sustainable mobility in the Greater Mendoza Metropolitan Area (capital of the homonymous province). The project includes the relocation of the families that have their homes on the new projected track.
