Brazil announces the creation of the National Authority for Climate Security

The now called Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of Brazil has announced the creation of the National Authority for Climate Security. The objective of the new entity will be to produce subsidies for the execution and implementation of the national climate policy, regulate and monitor the implementation of actions related to the policies and sectoral goals of mitigation, adaptation, promotion of resilience to climate change, and supervise the instruments, programs and actions to implement the national climate change policy and its sectoral plans.
Additionally, it has been announced that there will be a government council dedicated exclusively to climate security, reporting to the President of the Republic of Brazil.
