IDB Invest and Vinte support Mexico’s housing sector with sustainable bond

Vinte, one of the leading companies in the housing industry in Mexico, issued a 5-year term sustainable bond for an amount in local currency equivalent to approximately 87 million dollars, aimed at promoting sustainable and affordable housing in the country.
IDB Invest participated as an anchor investor for half of total amount placed (about 43 million dollars). The project is expected to finance the construction of nearly 3,700 green-certified homes, avoiding emissions for 2,400 tons of CO2 annually.
The placement of the sustainable bond is aligned with Vinte’s Sustainable Bond Reference Framework and with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP)’s SDG Impact standards.
