BNDES grants credit for JV wind farm between Casa dos Ventos and ArcelorMittal

The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) of Brazil has granted a 650-million loan (in local currency equivalent) for a new wind complex called Babilonia Centro, a joint-venture between the companies Casa dos Ventos (renewable energy project developer) and ArcelorMittal (steel company).
The 553 MW capacity wind project, will supply energy to 1.4 million households in Bahia State, and also cover 40% of ArcelorMittal’s electricity consumption in Brazil.
