Banco Continental promotes sustainable development in Paraguay with IDB Invest’s support

The commercial bank Banco Continental from Paraguay will receive financing from IDB Invest for an amount of up to 150 million dollars and a 6-year term. The objective is to support the growth of the bank’s sustainable portfolio in Paraguay (with a target annual growth rate of 20% in real terms). Commercial banks play a fundamental role in Paraguay in financing the climate agenda by promoting projects with a positive environmental and social impact in the country.

In the past, IDB Invest has supported Banco Continental with technical cooperation resources on topics related to environmental and social risk management, improvement of products and services for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and corporate governance.
