Banco de Bogotá launches programme to certify its suppliers in sustainability
Banco de Bogotá in Colombia has launched the “Programa +Sostenible” initiative, which seeks to strengthen the responsible management of the financial institution’s supply chain, supporting more than 1,000 of its suppliers in analyzing, closing gaps and incorporating sustainability criteria in their businesses. The programme will enable companies to carry out a self-diagnosis, learn about strengths and areas for improvement to integrate ESG criteria in their management, and structure a sustainable business model, as well as the positive transformation of the business environment, and compliance with the principles of the UN Global Compact and the 2030 Agenda.
This is a free advisory programme. Through an alliance with a sustainable development consultancy firm, the financial institution’s suppliers will be able to become certified by taking the four-module course on the fundamentals of sustainability, sustainable business, carbon footprint measurement and operational eco-efficiency. In addition, in conjunction with the Universidad Externado de Colombia, they will receive strategic support through programmes that include: initial diagnosis; “Plan padrinos”, to strengthen the business; “Primeros pasos”, a consultancy on sustainability; and “Iniciativas en Mercados Emergentes”, a consultancy on innovation and circular economy to solve social problems.
