IDB Lab and Google launch new call for Women STEM Entrepreneurs
IDB Lab, through its WeXchange platform, has launched the new edition of the “WeXchange Women STEMpreneurs” Competition, which aims to connect women entrepreneurs in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) from the region with potential opportunities for access to financing.
The call will allow the selection of fifteen startups that have a co-founder or a woman in their leadership team and that make technology a key aspect of their product or service. In addition, the candidates must be based and operate in at least one country in Latin America or the Caribbean, as well as being in the phase of raising financing from pre-Seed to Series B rounds.
The selected startups will present their companies on June 13th and 14th in Colombia to the main players in the innovation ecosystem of Latin America and the Caribbean, gathered on the occasion of the IDB Lab Forum. Additionally, the entrepreneurs will participate in workshops, presentations and personalized mentoring of the Startup Academy, the “Google for Startups” micro-acceleration program, which will put them in contact with experts in technology, digital marketing, leadership and capital raising.
The deadline for applications is March 31st, 2023. The results will be reported on May 15th, after the evaluation and decision of a virtual jury made up of leading investors from the region.
