S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2021

02/01/2022 Since 4 years

The S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook is a comprehensive publication on the state of corporate sustainability, reflecting developments over the past year and providing perspective on ESG issues. The Yearbook covers a wide range of topics from the transition to a low-carbon economy to the state of corporate diversity and labor market changes that occurred in 2021 to the growing recognition that business has an important role to play in protecting biodiversity.

The 2021 selection was based on a record of 7,500 companies from 61 industries, which were analyzed in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessments, with Latin America showing significant progress, moving from 28 companies in 2020 to 63 companies in 2021. Emerging market companies represent the second strongest group in each distinction category, an upward trend over the past five years.

Among the LAC companies, several obtained the most important distinctions, including five in the “Gold Class” category, the highest of the categories. Among them were: Grupo Argos SA (Colombia), Cementos Argos SA (Colombia), Klabin SA (Brazil), Grupo Nutresa SA (Colombia), Lojas Renner SA (Brazil). Within the second category, “Silver Class”, were: Banco do Brasil SA, Bancolombia SA, Banco Bradesco SA, Itau Unibanco Holding SA (Brazil), Enel Chile SA, Transportadora de Gas Internacional SA ESP (Colombia) and Corporación Aceros Arequipa SA (Peru).
