Support to the manufacturing sector in Belize by IDB Invest

Recinos, an important distributor of select and international brands of imported products in Belize, has received financing from IDB Invest to expand its operations in the manufacturing sector and support supply chain resilience. The loan seeks to expand Recinos by increasing its storage capacity, as well as related working capital needs.

The operation will facilitate the continued supply of goods from Recinos’ key suppliers, most of them small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) native from both Belize and neighboring countries of Guatemala and El Salvador.

The financing for an amount of 1 million dollars -potentially to be increased up to 5 million-, will have a term of up to 10 years, including a grace period of 12 months.

IDB Invest will provide advisory services to evaluate the efficiency of Recinos’ operations. The client will benefit from a Corporate Governance Action Plan and a consultancy to develop environmental and social policies and procedures.
