The Mexican Stock Exchange launches new Carbon Neutrality Guide
The Mexican Stock Exchange Group (BMV Group) and its MexiCO2 platform have designed and published the new “Carbon Neutrality Guide”. The guide aims to be a practical way for companies to develop their strategy towards carbon neutrality, as part of the BMV’s commitment to accompany the private sector to move towards a more sustainable market, helping public and private companies to reduce and/or offset their greenhouse gas emissions.
The guide is made up of five sections that focus on the following aspects:
• Climate contribution of Grupo BMV and the Mexican stock market sector.
• Relationship between the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Climate Change.
• Net-Zero as a solution to minimize the impact of Climate Change from the business sector
• Steps to follow to achieve carbon neutrality and reach climate goals, following international best practices.
• Disclosure of information considering Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) factors.
